Pre-gelatinized starch

Product Introduction

Pre-gelatinized starch is a physically modified starch and is also known as α -starch. It is a kind of porous starch granules without obvious crystallization obtained after starch gelatinizes into a dispersed state and then undergoes rapid dehydration and drying. The pre-gelatinized starch has a porous and hydrogen bond breaking structure and is featured as solubility in cold water, good stability in cold water, strong water retention, thickening and bonding, so it is used in many industrial sectors. 

Product application

The pre-gelatinized starch is a modified starch that is easy to process and has a wide range of purposes. It should be mixed with cold water to form a paste, eliminating the trouble of heating and gelatinizing. It is widely used in some sectors, such as medicine, food, cosmetics, feed, oil drilling, metal casting, textile and papermaking. 

1. The pre-gelatinized starch is widely used in various convenience foods. The steaming and boiling operation is omitted and it could thicken, improve the taste and have other good effects.

2. The pre-gelatinized starch is used as the sand core adhesive for casting molds in the foundry industry. It dissolves easily in cold water and has strong adhesive force. Besides, it burns completely without generating bubbles in pouring in molten metal and the products are free from sand holes and maintain a smooth surface.

3. The pre-gelatinized starch is used as the adhesive in the shrimp feed.

4. The pre-gelatinized starch is poured in the drilling mud for oil wells to increase water retention and consistency.

5. The pre-gelatinized starch is applied in fabric finishing in the textile industry and it is also used to prepare household clothing paste.

6. The pre-gelatinized starch is used as an adhesive for fine briquettes of coal and mineral sands.

7. The pre-gelatinized starch is used as sizing material in the papermaking industry.
