Yellow dextrin is a modified starch made from natural starchy raw materials. Its unique physical properties and chemical structure make it widely used in many fields. This article will introduce the basic properties, production methods, application fields and development prospects of yellow dextrin.

Yellow dextrin, also known as dextrin or yellow rubber powder, is mainly used in five industries: the grinding wheel industry, an essential auxiliary material for ceramic grinding wheel forming. In the production of oil sand core patterns in medium and small-sized foundry industries (except for large resin sand molding), the oil sand core patterns made by combining dextrin powder with grease (Tonghu is better) are several times stronger than those made with clay sand.

Yellow dextrin is a yellowish-white powder. It is insoluble in alcohol but readily soluble in water. When dissolved in water, it has strong viscosity. When starchy raw materials are steamed or boiled, the starch molecules decompose due to heat, and it is the first to be formed. At this point, if a drop of iodine is added, the solution will turn red-purple instead of blue as starch turns when it meets iodine.
